SPECIFIC OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST SERVICES:

Occupational therapy by a qualified occupational therapist or occupational therapist assistant in accordance with the physician’s written orders may include but not be limited to:

• Assessment and reassessment of the client and evaluation of the client’s level of function by applying diagnostic and prognostic procedures
• Guiding the client in the use of therapeutic, creative and self-care activities for the purpose of improving function
• Instruction in adaptations necessary for performance of activities of daily living
• Design and instruction in the use of adaptive devices
• Development, implementation, review and renewal of the physician’s plan of treatment in cooperation with the physician
• Development, implementation, review and revision of the plan of care and documentation of clinical and progress notes, summaries, and other documentation for the clinical record
• Participation in case conferences, staff meetings, and inservice programs as indicated
• Supervision of the occupational therapy assistant
